Objective and Scope

I participated in the bracket bot hackathon, a two day event involving building a robot that implements a functionality. My team and I built a food delivery robot with a mechanical claw. It recognizes brown takeout bags using OpenCV, picks the bag up with the claw, autonomously drives and drops the food at the desired location. I was responsible for the electrical side of the Bracket Bot, creating a reliable base that enabled smooth collaboration between the software and mechanical systems.

Approach

- Collaborated on assembling a bracket bot from scratch, contributing to the design and integration of mechanical components to create a functional robotic system.

- Effectively wired and connected all key components, including servo motors and a Raspberry Pi, ensuring seamless communication and control for the robotic arm's operation.

Outcome

- Resulted in a robot capable of both teleoperated operation and autonomous movement, allowing for flexibility in task execution and real-time adaptability.

- Strengthened my skills in hands-on wiring, component integration, and cross-disciplinary teamwork under time constraints.
